This week in the Love Photo Challenge, we’ve been deep-diving into the art of chemistry in photos—how small details and subtle connections create images that make you feel something.
To wrap up the first week, let’s add another layer to the magic. The magic of makeup. For a date, for a selfie—you decide.
But before we dive in, I’d love to hear your thoughts on dating app photos—what catches your eye, what makes you cringe, and what stands out in the best (or worst) way. Drop your insights in the chat here! 💕
For decades, contouring has been the unsung hero of bone structure. With a little shading here and a highlight there, faces have been lifted, chins have been chiseled, and noses have been refined—all without a single trip to the plastic surgeon. Some people use it to enhance their natural beauty, others to reshape their entire genetic history. Either way, it works.
A few weeks ago, I posted a 15-second video titled “Old Money Makeup?” The contouring was dramatic, but the final look was subtle. It fit right into the old money aesthetic that has been taking over social media. The video went viral, and I knew—this deserved more than 15 seconds.
The Technique
The contour stick I’m using is lightweight, forgiving, and easy to blend. It’s great for everyday wear, meaning you can sculpt your face without looking like you got into a fight with a paint roller.
I apply my contour slightly longer than usual, extending it just enough. However, the blending is where the real magic happens. Get it right, and your face is a masterpiece. Get it wrong, and suddenly, you have a beard.
Quick tip: Always blend upward, never downward. Blending up lifts and defines the face, creating a sculpted, seamless effect. Blending down can drag the face and create unwanted shadows—sometimes even resembling stubble. Unless you’re going for “five o’clock shadow chic,” keep your blending soft and upward.
Note: You can find the contour stick I’m using here. But if you want less warmth and a bigger shadow effect, go for something cooler-toned, like this one, for a more sculpted look.
Common Contouring Challenge
I felt this in my soul. If you’ve ever applied nose contour, only for it to mysteriously vanish within seconds, you’re not alone. It has happened to me too.
Here’s what actually works:
✨ Powder is your best friend – If cream contour disappears on you, switch to powder. Or better yet, layer powder over cream to lock it in place.
✨ Go a little heavier, then blend – Don’t be afraid to apply it slightly stronger than usual and then blend like your life depends on it
✨ Highlight strategically – A tiny touch of highlighter on the tip and bridge brings balance and keeps the shape defined.
There are many ways to contour the nose, and if you want a tutorial on different techniques, let me know in the poll!

Application Tips
In this video, I applied the contour directly onto my face because it helps viewers see placement more clearly. However, for a softer and more blendable application, try applying the product on your hand or a brush first before placing it on your face. This makes blending smoother and more natural. Elevating the Look
Beyond makeup, accessories can take your look to another level. In this video, I’m wearing two pieces that instantly make me feel elegant—a pair of serious-looking earrings and a headband I’ve been obsessed with for almost a year. Even if you’re in jeans and a T-shirt, these small details can completely elevate your look.
