😂 I totally get it, Qing! I went through my own phase of vignetting obsession. It’s such a great tool for emphasizing the subject, and it can add that extra je ne sais quoi to landscapes. I’d say go for it—just in moderation. And remember to keep your raw files! I’ve found that editing styles shift over time, so what you love today might not resonate in five or ten years. But with the original file, you’ll always have the flexibility to edit from a fresh perspective.
I totally agree with keeping the original raws! The new Photoshop/Camera Raw updates last week were game-changing for my edits, so I'm going back and re-editing some old photos that get regularly re-used. Plus, my skills as an editor improve with practice (and finding new tips from certain Substack newsletters ;).
