I’m not saying these products are magic, but if they came with a wand and a puff of glitter, I wouldn’t question it. They’re the kind of clever little things that lift your mood just enough to make people wonder if you’ve had “work done” or just got a really good nap.
And yes, they show up in your photos. Instagram sees it. The woman at the coffee shop sees it. Your reflection in the elevator? She sees it too.
Let’s dive in.
If you haven’t subscribed to Photogenic yet, now’s your chance. It’s like a makeover in your inbox
1. WEAR RED
Studies show people perceive those wearing red as more attractive, confident, and even more desirable. If that sounds like a lot for a single color to carry…well, I don’t make the rules.
Lipstick is the easiest way to tap into that energy without committing to a full red wardrobe.

After testing a small army of PR products, I have two favorites:
Charlotte Tilbury: This one isn’t your regular lipstick, it’s a lip blur. The texture is velvety, almost like a soft-focus filter for your mouth. Dab it in the center and blur it out with your finger for a diffused look, or go bold. Here’s how it looks on:
Dior: A true classic. I love the shade 999, it’s timeless and flattering. If you're planning a wild night, go for the Transfer-Proof version. It stays put through cocktails, selfies, and questionable decisions.
2. ICE FACE ROLLER
If you wake up feeling puffy or bloated, this is your new morning ritual. Ice rollers calm inflammation, boost circulation, and make you look more sculpted, even on four hours of sleep and a dream about your ex.
Keep it in the freezer, then glide it over your cheeks, jawline, and under-eyes. It’s cold, it’s quick, and somehow… it makes you hot.
Want another option? An ice mask works too. And you don’t even have to move your hand.
3. ROOT TOUCH-UP. GRAY HAIR EMERGENCY KIT
This one’s not for everyday use, it’s a little dry, but in a pinch, it’s a lifesaver. Root touch-up sprays cover grays instantly and buy you time when you didn’t quite make it to the salon.
Disclosure: It takes a bit of practice (it’s a spray) but once you get the hang of it, it’s worth it. Pro tip: Don’t apply it after you’ve put on your final outfit unless you want polka dots on your blouse. Ask me how I know.
Bonus: If you're feeling crafty, some people even use it to draw freckles. Wild, I know.
Not into sprays? My incredibly chic mom swears by a version that looks like lipstick. That one’s HERE.
4. A GOOD PAIR OF JEANS
When I don’t know what to wear, I default to comfort, and a great pair of straight-leg jeans never lets me down. They’re flattering and easy to style.
These are my go-tos:
Looking hot isn’t about trends. It’s about finding your uniform and making it look effortless.
5. BROWN PENCIL
Your brows shape your eyes, frame your face, and add just enough intensity to make people stare a second longer. They make you look more polished, expressive…hotter. I rest my case.
Get this one here. It has the perfect tone, glides on smooth, and makes a difference in under 60 seconds. The price is great too. I’m wearing the color Cold Brew in the photo above.
6. SELF-TANNER, A GLOW-UP IN A BOTTLE
Nothing makes you look hotter faster than a good tan. Sunbathing is outdated. We take care of our skin now. You can be hot, tan, and healthy at the same time.
This self-tanner kit delivers a warm, even glow. It’s a favorite for a reason.
I have so many other recommendations!
To close this out, here’s a little photo from my weekend. I went with my husband to an art festival in Lincoln Park and had the best time.
Drop your weekend photos in the chat, I love seeing what you’re up to.
And if you have a product that makes you feel hotter, share it in the comments. Let’s build the ultimate list.
With love,
Bonnie
