The Tiny Tools That Keep Clothes Looking Expensive
The inexpensive secrets stylish women use to make everyday clothes look elevated.
Hello Chiquit@s,
Before we start, I have to tell you about a product I tried this week because it was surprisingly good. The company is Raw Generation. They make cold-pressed juices and protein shakes, and they sent me one of their Protein Cleanses to try.
Now, your girl is not doing a cleanse anytime soon because I enjoy food far too much for that. But the products arrive frozen (they don’t use preservatives), so I’ve been keeping them in my freezer, moving one to the fridge the night before, and having it ready in the morning.
Some days I grab a juice. On workout days, I reach for one of the protein shakes.
THESE ARE SO GOOD.
The taste is genuinely delicious. I also love having something ready to go in the morning and they deliver everything directly to your house.
They gave me a discount code: BONNIE15. This isn’t an ad. I just liked it so much that I had to share it with you. Very good job, Raw Generation.
Now, onto today’s article...
To be honest, I wasn’t that into clothing-care tools before I moved to Chicago. Living here means dealing with four seasons and a much wider variety of fabrics than I ever did in Los Angeles or Miami.
But I have to admit, I’ve seen a big difference between having these tools and not having them.
While I’m far from perfect, this little collection has helped my clothes last longer and look better. And there’s something I genuinely enjoy about the quiet ritual of taking care of the things I took the time to curate for myself.
If you have a favorite clothing-care tool that didn’t make the list, share it in the comments. I’m always looking for new discoveries.
Fabric Shaver
This one is very affordable, under $12, and it keeps my cashmere sweaters looking so much better.
It removes all those little pills that make knitwear look tired and worn. I swear it has extended the life of some of my sweaters tenfold.
Also, for reasons I can’t explain, using it is incredibly satisfying.
There is also a premium version HERE .
Steamer
This steamer HERE is a dream.
One of the things I was specifically looking for was something that wasn’t bulky after owning an absolute monstrosity in my studio for years.
You still need a little patience because it’s a steamer, but it works well and looks beautiful sitting out. They also make a travel version HERE. Which I’ve seen in many hotels. If the price feels a little steep, HERE is an Amazon option that’s under $30.
Stain Remover Pen
You need one of these in every purse. There isn’t much to explain. You get a stain, you use the pen, and suddenly your lunch mistake becomes much less visible.
Wooden Hangers
This is definitely an upgrade. I found a slimmer version HERE for lighter-weight items and a more traditional version on Amazon HERE.
I particularly like them for blazers, coats, and structured pieces because they help garments maintain their shape over time.
They also make your closet feel significantly more expensive, which never hurts.
Wrinkle Release Spray
This one isn’t perfect, but it can absolutely get you out of a pickle. You spray it onto the fabric, gently tug and smooth the material, and it helps soften wrinkles.
I think of it as the emergency backup. The one I use is an all-in-one product: wrinkle remover, static remover, odor eliminator, fabric refresher, and ironing aid.
Not magic, but surprisingly useful.
Remember, you can find all my looks, favorite finds, and recommendations in one place HERE.
